PkMAP Rejects 27th Constitutional Amendment, Declares Form-47 Parliament and PM Lacking Authority to Amend Constitution

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily)** — The **Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP)** has strongly rejected the proposed **27th Constitutional Amendment**, declaring that the **parliament and prime minister formed through Form-47 results** have **no constitutional authority** to alter the country’s founding document.
In a statement issued from the party’s central secretariat, PkMAP said that the so-called parliament, allegedly formed through **manipulated results of the 2024 general elections**, does not represent the will of the people. The statement asserted that the proposed amendment poses a **grave threat to the federal and democratic foundations** of Pakistan, describing it as an attempt to **destroy the consensus-based constitutional structure**.
“The 27th Amendment aims to distort the federal balance of power and eliminate genuine public representation,” the statement read, adding that **accepting such changes would be an act of enmity against the people and the country itself.**
PkMAP recalled that the **February 8, 2024 general elections** were widely condemned as the **most rigged in the country’s history**, rejected by **FAFEN (Free and Fair Election Network)**, the **European Union**, the **United Nations**, and major national political parties. The party said that these irregularities rendered the current **prime minister, cabinet, and parliament** constitutionally and morally **illegitimate both domestically and internationally.**
According to the statement, “Installing a defeated candidate as prime minister and altering election outcomes through coercive means has amounted to the **violation of Pakistan’s Constitution** and the **collapse of democratic principles**, effectively empowering bureaucratic and institutional forces over the people’s mandate.”
PkMAP warned that this process has plunged Pakistan into **deep political instability** and **multi-dimensional crises**, leading to a **weakening currency**, **soaring inflation**, and **mounting corruption**. The party also alleged that “powerful agencies” are now **protecting corrupt and criminal mafias**, further eroding public trust in state institutions.
The statement concluded with a **call for unity among all democratic and constitutional forces**, urging political parties, the media, the judiciary, and civil society to **join the “Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan” (Movement for the Protection of Pakistan’s Constitution)** and to **raise their voices for the immediate end of the Form-47-imposed government**.
PkMAP emphasized that restoring genuine democracy and constitutional supremacy is the **shared responsibility of all patriotic and democratic forces** in the country.
