Balochistan PAC Gives Health Department One-Week Ultimatum Over Financial Irregularities

Quetta: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Balochistan Assembly has expressed **strong displeasure** over the Health Department’s failure to provide records concerning irregularities worth billions of rupees, giving the department a **final one-week deadline** to comply.

Chairman **Asghar Ali Tarin** presided over the meeting, during which members criticized the department’s lack of progress over the past eight months, calling it a clear sign of **inefficiency and negligence**. The chairman warned that **no compromise will be made on financial discipline and transparency**, and officials failing to provide the required records will be **removed from their posts**.

The PAC directed the Health Department to present **all records, contracts, and original documents within a week**, warning that failure to do so will result in referral of the matter to the **National Accountability Bureau (NAB)** or other investigative agencies. Members emphasized that a **thorough investigation** into financial corruption and illegal procurement is essential to protect public funds and ensure transparency in the health sector.
