Balochistan Chief Minister Chairs High-Level Secretaries’ Committee Meeting, Reviews Quarterly Performance of Departments

Quetta:Under the chairmanship of **Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti**, a high-level meeting of the **Secretaries’ Committee** was held to review the quarterly performance reports of provincial departments.
During the session, **Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan** presented a detailed briefing, evaluating the performance of **38 departments across 644 different indicators**. According to the briefing:
* **Top performing departments:**

1. **Livestock Department** – ranked first
2. **Finance Department** – second
3. **Urban Planning & Development Department** – third
4. **Law Department** – fourth
5. **Agriculture Department** – fifth
* **Weakest performing departments:**
1. **Local Government Department** – ranked lowest
2. **Women Development Department** – second lowest
3. **Inter-Provincial Coordination** – third lowest
4. **Labour & Manpower** – fourth lowest
5. **CMIT** – fifth lowest

The Chief Minister **praised the heads of high-performing departments** and instructed secretaries of underperforming departments to **improve their efficiency**.
Addressing the meeting, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized that **good governance is key to gradually resolving public issues**. He stressed the need for **diligence, integrity, and continuity** to lift Balochistan out of its challenges. He directed all departments to ensure **transparency in service delivery, decision-making, and administrative processes**, stating that the province’s problems **cannot be solved externally and require local accountability**.
The Chief Minister further highlighted the importance of **accelerating development projects** to provide relief to the public and **strengthen public trust**, noting that Balochistan’s progress depends on **effective governance and policy implementation**.
The meeting also began with **prayers for the late SHO Lutfi Ali Khosa**, who was martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Bhag Nari, seeking **blessings for his soul and elevated ranks**.
