Balochistan Government to Launch “People’s Minority Card” for Welfare and Empowerment of Minorities

*Quetta (Qudrat Daily)* — The **Government of Balochistan** has announced the launch of the **“People’s Minority Card”**, a landmark initiative aimed at promoting the **social and economic welfare** of the province’s minority communities and ensuring their **equal access to development opportunities**.
The decision was made during a **high-level consultative meeting** chaired by **Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti**, which reviewed key projects related to minority self-reliance, education, health, and employment. The meeting also approved several **reform initiatives** to uplift minority communities across the province.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bugti said that the provincial government is committed to **promoting harmony, equality, and inclusion among all religious communities**, adding that the **People’s Minority Card** reflects this vision. The card will provide minorities with **facilitated access to education, healthcare, business, and employment opportunities**.
The Chief Minister announced that the government has allocated **Rs. 500 million** under the **Minority Endowment Fund** for the current fiscal year, which will be **increased to Rs. 1 billion** in the next budget to expand the program’s reach.
Under the initiative, special **training programs, financial assistance schemes, and self-employment projects** will be launched to help minority youth achieve economic stability and contribute to the province’s growth.
To ensure **transparency and efficiency**, a **modern digital monitoring system** is being introduced to track resource utilization and guarantee fair distribution.
CM Bugti emphasized that the program is being finalized in **consultation with minority leaders and civil society** to ensure it addresses the real needs of the communities. He stated that the **People’s Minority Card** will serve as a **symbol of interfaith harmony, tolerance, and social equality**, adding that **the prosperity of minorities is integral to the collective development of Balochistan**.
The meeting was attended by **Parliamentary Secretary for Minority Affairs Sanjay Kumar**, **Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan**, **Principal Secretary to the CM Babar Khan**, and other senior officials.
