**Balochistan Leaders Condemn Harassment of Pakistani Citizens Under Pretext of Afghan Refugee Crackdown**

**Islamabad (Kudrat Daily):** Political and social leaders in Balochistan have strongly condemned the reported mistreatment of Afghan refugees and Pakistani citizens amid the ongoing repatriation drive. They said such incidents are regrettable, especially when **Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti** has already directed the administration to treat Afghan nationals with **dignity and respect**.

In a joint statement, **Maulana Abdul Wasay** (Provincial Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam), **Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman** (Provincial Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami and Member of the Provincial Assembly), and **Maulana Abdul Qadir Luni** (Provincial Chief of JUI Nazriyati) expressed concern over reports of harsh treatment and humiliation of Afghan citizens in some areas.

The leaders said they do not oppose the repatriation of Afghan refugees but emphasized that the process must be carried out **in a phased, humane, and lawful manner**. They reminded that **Pakistan had hosted Afghan refugees for over four decades**, earning international praise for its hospitality.

They added that the current mistreatment of refugees not only contradicts Pakistan’s traditions of generosity and tribal values but also **violates fundamental human rights**.

The leaders urged the provincial authorities to resolve the issue through **mutual understanding and respectful coordination**, ensuring that no one’s dignity is compromised. They also appealed to **Baloch nationalist parties** to cooperate with the administration in creating a **transparent and dignified mechanism** for refugee repatriation that is acceptable to all sides.

According to government sources, the provincial administration has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Chief Minister’s directives — ensuring that Afghan refugees are treated **with respect and in accordance with the law** throughout the process.
