Levies Force Personnel Protest in Mastung Against Merger into Police, Demand Immediate Withdrawal of Decision

Mastung: The **Levies Force personnel in Mastung** held a strong protest against the Government of Balochistan’s decision to **merge the Levies Force into the provincial police**. The rally, led by **Risaldar Shah Muhammad Zehri**, began from **Quetta-Taftan Highway** and culminated in a **sit-in at the Kardagap Levies Station**.

Personnel from **Khud Kocha, Wali Khan, and Daringarh Levies stations**, along with **tribal elders, community leaders, and local residents**, participated in large numbers. Protesters carried banners and placards reading:
*“No to Levies Merger,”*
*“Government of Balochistan, Wake Up,”*
and *“Our Regional Force is Our Identity.”*

Chanting slogans against the provincial government, demonstrators said the **Levies Force is a trusted, local, and efficient institution** that has consistently played a key role in maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and serving the people.

Addressing the gathering, speakers recalled that a similar attempt to merge the Levies Force into the police during **Pervez Musharraf’s regime** had failed completely and was later **reversed due to public pressure**.

They emphasized that **law and order in Levies-administered areas remains far better than in police-controlled zones**, which clearly demonstrates the force’s **effectiveness and strong public trust**.

The speakers condemned the government’s move as **unconstitutional, unlawful, and anti-people**, warning that it would create unrest both within the force and among the public.

The protesters demanded that the **Government of Balochistan immediately withdraw its decision**, warning that if the merger plan is not reversed, the **protest movement will spread across the entire province**.
