Indian Nurse in Singapore Jailed and Caned for Indecent Acts with Young Caregiver
Singapore:An Indian-origin nurse, **Ellip Shiva Nago**, has been sentenced to **14 months in prison and corporal punishment** after being found guilty of **sexually harassing a young caregiver** at Raffles Hospital.
According to international media reports, the incident took place on **June 18, 2025**, when the **34-year-old nurse** allegedly lured the victim into a hospital restroom under the pretext of using a disinfectant spray, where she engaged in **indecent acts**.
The **shocked caregiver** immediately informed his elderly grandfather, who was the patient, and the matter was reported to the **hospital administration**. The hospital swiftly **terminated the nurse’s employment** and referred the case to the police.
Authorities **arrested the nurse two days later**, and during the trial, the prosecution argued that the act not only harmed the victim but also **damaged the hospital’s professional environment**, warranting a harsh punishment.
After reviewing the evidence, the court convicted **Ellip Shiva Nago** and sentenced her to **14 months in jail and caning**, emphasizing the seriousness of sexual misconduct in healthcare settings.
