Pakistan-China Strategic Partnership Reflects Deep Friendship, Says President Zardari
Chengdu: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China reflects the deep-rooted friendship between the peoples of the two nations.
Addressing the 2nd Golden Panda Awards International Culture Forum in Chengdu, President Zardari highlighted the power of art and culture in uniting people and bridging civilizations. The event was attended by senior Chinese leaders, cultural representatives, artists, and international delegates.
According to the President’s Office, Zardari congratulated the award winners and praised their creativity, noting that such artistic endeavors transcend borders and bring people together through shared human values. He also thanked the Sichuan provincial government, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the forum’s organizers for hosting the event.

He expressed gratitude to Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, for the warm hospitality extended during his visit.
Emphasizing Pakistan’s full support for China’s vision of “civilizational exchange and mutual learning,” Zardari stressed the importance of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), Global Security Initiative (GSI), and Global Governance Initiative (GGI), which focus on sustainable development, regional stability, and enhanced international cooperation.
He underscored the significance of the Global Governance Initiative in promoting cultural dialogue, diversity, and equality as a counter-narrative to the so-called “clash of civilizations.”
The President said that Pakistan and China’s enduring friendship is built on mutual respect and cooperation, noting that both countries are preparing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expand cultural exchanges, strengthen creative industries, and promote a culture of understanding and tolerance in collaboration with China and other nations.
“Culture is a vital bridge for peace, prosperity, and a shared future of humanity,” Zardari said, praising President Xi Jinping’s vision of offering cooperation and win-win solutions instead of confrontation.
He added that he was deeply impressed by how these initiatives serve the shared values of humanity in today’s rapidly changing world.
