Sindh High Court Grants Time to Parties in Petition Against Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s Degree Cancellation

Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted additional time to the parties involved in a petition challenging the cancellation of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s academic degree.

During the hearing, both parties requested more time to submit their responses. The court accepted the request and directed all parties to submit their replies by **November 27**.

The court had earlier **suspended the decision to cancel Justice Jahangiri’s degree** pending a final verdict.

In the petition, it was argued that the cancellation was made **without issuing any prior notice** to Justice Jahangiri. The petitioner requested the court to **nullify the Karachi University’s decision**, terming it unlawful, and to **reinstate the degree**.

The **University of Karachi** and the **federal government** have been named as respondents in the case.
