Federal Government Offers to Move Imran Khan to Bani Gala Residence

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) formally requests, the government is willing to transfer former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to his Bani Gala residence.

Speaking on senior journalist Asma Shirazi’s TV show, the minister said, *“If PTI submits a request, we can shift Imran Khan to Bani Gala. Then they can meet him every morning and evening, talk to him, or even play Ludo — it makes no difference to us.”*

The minister’s remarks come amid growing concerns from PTI leaders regarding Imran Khan’s prison conditions and the restrictions placed on meeting him.

It is pertinent to mention that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been imprisoned at Adiala Jail since August 2023, serving a sentence in the £190 million corruption case. He is also facing several cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act related to the May 9 protests.
