Massive Property Fraud Uncovered in Quetta: Afghan Refugees Selling One House to Multiple Buyers Before Leaving

QUETTA: A major real estate scam has come to light in Quetta, where **Afghan refugees preparing to leave Pakistan** are allegedly selling the same property to **two or even three different buyers** before fleeing the country. The fraudulent sales have reportedly caused **heavy financial losses** to local citizens.

According to reports, such incidents have been widely reported in **Quetta city, Sariab, Nawan Killi**, and other surrounding areas. Many Afghan families, eager to leave Pakistan, are selling their **homes, shops, and properties** at prices far below market value. Attracted by the low rates, several buyers have made payments **without proper verification**, only to discover later that the same property had already been sold to someone else.

Investigations further revealed that **fake stamp papers** are being used to execute these deals, allowing multiple ownership claims to be filed later. Victims either lose their money entirely or become entangled in **lengthy legal disputes**.

Legal experts and social activists have urged citizens to **verify ownership records** through **NADRA and the Land Revenue Department** before purchasing any property. They advised that **no payment should be made without complete legal documentation**, and if the seller is an Afghan national, their identity and property ownership should first be confirmed through the **Home Department or district administration**.

Residents have called on the **Balochistan government and local authorities** to take **immediate action** against the rising trend of property fraud and to safeguard citizens from financial exploitation and dual ownership disputes.
