Mehmood Khan Achakzai Nominated as Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly
ISLAMABAD: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman **Mehmood Khan Achakzai** has been formally nominated as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
The opposition’s formal request for his nomination was submitted to the office of **National Assembly Secretary Mushtaq**, with **Chief Whip Aamir Dogar**, **Asad Qaiser**, and other senior leaders present during the submission.
A total of **74 opposition members** signed the nomination papers endorsing Achakzai as the opposition leader. However, three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members — **Ali Afzal Sahi**, **Umer Farooq**, and **Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan** — could not sign the document as they are currently abroad.
The **Special Secretary of the National Assembly** received the application, and the **Adviser’s Office** officially registered it under a diary number for further processing.
