Action Initiated Against Officer Investigating Corruption During Buzdar Era

LAHORE: The officer investigating major corruption cases from the tenure of former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is now facing an inquiry herself. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Three has expressed no confidence in the probe into large-scale financial irregularities during the Buzdar administration.

According to reports, the investigating officer, Dr. Farah Masood, went on leave after being summoned by the PAC. Her absence prompted the committee to take serious notice of the matter.

The PAC Three has directed the Additional Chief Secretary to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dr. Masood’s leave and has summoned her again for the next hearing.

Dr. Farah Masood had been appointed as the inquiry member to investigate financial irregularities worth Rs 200 million in the Mandi Bahauddin District Health Authority during the Buzdar government.

The committee, however, expressed a lack of confidence in her investigation, raising concerns about the transparency and progress of the inquiry.
