Gaza Peace Deal Marks a ‘New Historic Era for the Middle East,’ Says Trump

Washington: U.S. President **Donald Trump** declared the **Gaza-Israel peace agreement** as the beginning of “a new historic era” in the Middle East, marking the end of war, terrorism, and extremism in the region.
Addressing the **Israeli Parliament (Knesset)**, Trump said the agreement signified a “turning point” in global peace efforts. “Today marks not only the end of war, but also the defeat of terrorism and extremism. The Middle East has entered a new age of peace, with Arab and Islamic nations as partners,” he stated.
Trump announced that **20 live Israeli hostages** and the remains of **26 others** were returned to Israel after two years. “This is a tremendous achievement for Israel and the world — a moment future generations will remember as the time everything began to change,” he said.
Expressing gratitude to Arab and Muslim countries, Trump said, “We have proven that peace is not just a dream — it is a reality we can build together.”
During his speech, an opposition member protested against Trump but was swiftly escorted out by security.
Trump went on to praise Arab nations for exerting pressure on **Hamas**, saying they played a key role in securing the peace agreement. “Today, the guns are silent and the future looks bright. The Middle East is on its way to becoming a prosperous region,” he said.
He credited his administration with stopping **eight wars in eight months** and praised Secretary of State **Marco Rubio**, calling him “the best Secretary of State in American history.”
Referring to U.S.-Israeli military cooperation, Trump confirmed that American and Israeli forces had **jointly targeted Iranian nuclear facilities**. He said seven **B-2B bombers** and over **100 fighter jets** took part in the operation, dropping 14 bombs that “eliminated Iran’s nuclear capability.”
“Iran was just two months away from acquiring a nuclear weapon,” Trump claimed. “We destroyed key facilities, but the doors for friendship and cooperation with Iran remain open.”
He also highlighted U.S. victories against **ISIS**, noting, “We were told it would take four to five years to defeat ISIS in Iraq, but our generals did it in just four weeks.”
Praising Lebanon’s disarmament of **Hezbollah**, Trump said, “A long and difficult war has ended. Hamas will permanently lay down arms in Gaza. Now is the time to focus on stability, security, dignity, and economic recovery.”
Concluding his address, the U.S. President reaffirmed America’s unwavering support for Israel and called for peace across the region. “If we can achieve peace with Iran, it will be historic. Together, we will help rebuild Gaza and ensure that peace in the Middle East endures for generations to come.”
