Faiza Hassan Says Firdous Jamal Invited to Interviews for Controversial Remarks, Not His Work

Lahore: Renowned Pakistani actress Faiza Hassan has said that veteran actor Firdous Jamal is often invited to interviews because of his controversial statements rather than his professional achievements.
In a recent interview with a journalist, Faiza Hassan said, “Despite his statements, I like Firdous Jamal and I am his admirer.” She added that whether it’s Firdous Jamal or Nasser Adeeb, they should discuss creative topics instead of commenting on the personal lives of fellow artists during interviews.
Faiza, who resides in the UK with her family but frequently visits Pakistan for work, expressed disappointment over the trend of podcast hosts exploiting controversial comments for fame and online views.
“It makes me sad that podcasters always ask him (Firdous Jamal) provocative questions just to make him angry,” she said. “I admire both Firdous Jamal and Nasser Adeeb for their work, not their personal lives. I believe they should focus on creative discussions during interviews — they have so much knowledge to share.”
The actress also criticized certain podcasters, calling them “fake journalists” who invite artists without understanding their work. “They only want views from controversial conversations,” she noted.
Faiza emphasized that both hosts and artists should act responsibly, saying, “Just as hosts should avoid such questions, artists should also think before they speak — that’s part of being a professional.”
