Overseas Pakistanis Remitted $9.53 Billion in Three Months, Says State Bank

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released data showing that overseas Pakistanis sent **$9.53 billion** in remittances during the **first quarter of the current fiscal year**, marking an **8.4% increase** compared to the same period last year.
According to the SBP report, **$3.18 billion** was remitted in **September alone**. During the month, Pakistanis living in **Saudi Arabia** sent **$750 million**, those in the **United Arab Emirates** remitted **$670 million**, and **$450 million** came from the **United Kingdom**.
In the first three months of the fiscal year, **$2.31 billion** was sent from Saudi Arabia, **$1.98 billion** from the UAE, **$1.36 billion** from the UK, and **$1.28 billion** from various European countries. Meanwhile, **Pakistanis in the United States** sent **$800 million** during the same period.
The SBP stated that the steady growth in remittances reflects continued confidence of overseas Pakistanis in official banking channels and Pakistan’s economic recovery momentum.
