Pakistan Army Vows Decisive Response to Any Indian Aggression — “New Normal” Will Be Met With a Swift and Effective Counter-Normal: Corps Commanders Conference

Rawalpindi: The **Pakistan Army’s Corps Commanders Conference**, chaired by **Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir**, vowed that **any Indian aggression will be met with an immediate and decisive response**, declaring that any so-called “new normal” will be countered with a **new, faster, and more effective counter-normal**.
According to the **Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)**, the **272nd Corps Commanders Conference** was held at **General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi**, where participants offered **Fateha for martyrs** of terrorist attacks sponsored by India.
The Army Chief praised the **courage, resolve, and sacrifices** of troops engaged in counterterrorism operations and appreciated the military’s **role in rescue and relief efforts** during the recent floods.
The forum conducted a **comprehensive review** of ongoing counterterrorism operations, emerging threats, and operational preparedness. It reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains **fully ready to thwart all malicious designs of the country’s enemies** across every domain.
Referring to the **link between terrorism and crime under political patronage**, the conference declared that such alliances are **detrimental to the interests of the state and people** and will **no longer be tolerated**.
The forum also expressed **grave concern over the recent irresponsible and provocative statements** by Indian political and military leadership, terming them **a continuation of India’s habitual warmongering for domestic political gain**. It warned that such rhetoric threatens **regional peace and stability**.
The commanders made it clear that **Pakistan will respond swiftly and decisively to any Indian misadventure**, eliminating any illusion of “geographical or strategic superiority.”
ISPR added that networks of **India-sponsored terrorist groups** will be **completely dismantled**, along with **“Fitna-e-Khawarij”** and **“Fitna-e-Hindustan”**, through **comprehensive counterterrorism operations**.
The forum also **praised Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements**, reiterating its commitment to **regional and global peace**.
### **Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Defense Pact Welcomed**
The conference welcomed the **historic Pakistan–Saudi Arabia strategic defense agreement**, aimed at **strengthening bilateral relations** and promoting **joint defense cooperation** against external aggression. ISPR said the accord reflects **mutual respect, shared values**, and a **common vision for regional peace and stability**.
### **Support for Kashmir and Palestine**
The commanders reaffirmed **Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination** under relevant **UN resolutions**, and expressed **solidarity with the Palestinian people**, calling for an **immediate ceasefire** and **unhindered humanitarian aid** for Gaza.
Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance, the forum stated that the **Palestine issue must be resolved under the two-state solution**, ensuring the establishment of an **independent Palestinian state within pre-1967 borders** with **Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital**.
### **Army Chief’s Directives**
Field Marshal Asim Munir directed all commanders to maintain **the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, physical fitness, modernization, and accountability**.
He reaffirmed confidence in the army’s **comprehensive capabilities**, stating:
> “The Pakistan Army is fully capable of effectively countering all threats — conventional, unconventional, hybrid, or asymmetric — with complete preparedness and resolve.”
