PTI Now Willing to Cooperate, But Hard to Trust Them: Punjab Governor

Lahore: Punjab Governor **Sardar Saleem Haider Khan** has said that although **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** has now expressed willingness to cooperate, it is **difficult to trust** the party due to its past behavior.

Speaking at a **relief distribution ceremony for flood victims** organized by the Church of Pakistan, the governor said that the **Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)** played a crucial role in forming the current government and that the **system cannot function without the PPP**, even if the **Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)** manages to secure a majority.

He criticized the PML-N leadership, saying that **natural disasters are tests from God** and should not be politicized. “Those enjoying privileges cannot feel the pain of people in distress,” he remarked, stressing the need for unity rather than internal conflicts.

Governor Haider said that the **PPP joined the government to improve governance**, but warned that if their sacrifices are not acknowledged, the leadership should make decisions reflecting the **aspirations of party workers**.

He further revealed that the PPP had earlier attempted to form a government **in coalition with PTI after the elections**, but PTI did not cooperate at that time. “Now that PTI wants to work with us, it is a difficult decision because it remains an unreliable party,” he said, reiterating that **even if PML-N has the numbers, the political system cannot run without the PPP**.
