Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed in Israeli Custody but Safe, Confirms Foreign Office
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s **Foreign Office** has confirmed that **former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan**, who was part of the **Global Solidarity Flotilla** carrying humanitarian aid for **Gaza**, is currently **in Israeli military custody** but is reported to be **safe and in good condition**.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan is in **close contact with international partners** to ensure the **safety and early repatriation** of all Pakistani nationals aboard the flotilla.
Diplomatic sources from a **friendly European country** have verified that **Mushtaq Ahmed** is being held by the **Israeli occupation forces**, but has been confirmed to be safe.
According to the spokesperson, Mushtaq Ahmed will be **produced before a court** in accordance with **local legal procedures**, after which **deportation orders** are expected to be issued to facilitate his **swift return to Pakistan**.
The Foreign Office further stated that Pakistan has already ensured the **safe return of other citizens** who had disembarked earlier and expressed gratitude to the **brotherly nations** that assisted in the process.
“The Government of Pakistan remains fully committed to the **protection of its citizens abroad**, and we expect the **repatriation process** to be completed within the **next few days**,” the statement added.
