Governor Emphasizes Balochistan’s Vital Role in National Economy, Calls for Boost in Border Trade

Quetta:Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has highlighted the crucial role of Balochistan in Pakistan’s economic growth and prosperity, stressing the importance of border trade and investment opportunities in the province.
Speaking during a meeting with JUI provincial assembly member Mir Dastgir Badini at the Governor House in Quetta, Mandokhail said that Balochistan provides profitable investment avenues and direct access to Iran, Afghanistan, and particularly Central Asia. He noted that strengthening border trade in areas such as Nushki could significantly improve economic activities and contribute to local development.
The governor emphasized the need for further developmental initiatives to uplift the underprivileged communities of border regions, enabling them to play an active role in national progress. He said the establishment of border markets along Pakistan’s long frontiers with neighboring countries would not only benefit local populations but also support the revival of the national economy.
Mandokhail also underlined the role of industrialists and traders in boosting production, creating employment opportunities, and expanding investment while enhancing access to regional markets. He assured that the provincial and federal governments would continue to take measures to address the issues faced by border communities and local traders.
He added that small-scale trading activities along the borders already provide livelihoods to thousands of people and strengthen the broader economy. The governor stressed that people-friendly initiatives must be introduced while balancing security concerns and the socio-economic needs of local communities.
