Protect Balochistan’s National Rights in Mines & Minerals Law, Warns Lashkari Raisani

Quetta:Senior politician and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has urged both the government and opposition parties to set aside their personal interests and ensure the protection of Balochistan’s historic national rights in the newly introduced Mines and Minerals legislation.
In a statement issued on Monday, following the provincial assembly’s resolution to review the law, Raisani cautioned that any compromise on Balochistan’s rights would trigger **renewed political resistance** in the province.
> “Political workers must remain vigilant within their organizational institutions to safeguard the rights of present and future generations,” he stressed.
He added that the passage of the law without proper safeguards had already fueled **anxiety and resentment** in Balochistan, opening “new doors of unrest and alienation.” He called on the provincial assembly to play its role in defending the **national and historic rights of the province**, emphasizing that political parties are custodians of their voters and must uphold their trust.
Raisani further warned that unless the new legislation fully protects Balochistan’s rights, it will be seen as a betrayal of its people and a serious blow to the province’s future.
