Pakistan Holds Edge Over India in Multinational Finals Ahead of Asia Cup Clash

Dubai: As Pakistan and India prepare to face off in the **Asia Cup final tonight in Dubai**, history shows that Pakistan has the upper hand in **multinational tournament finals**. Out of five such encounters, Pakistan has won three, while India has secured two victories.

In 1985, India defeated Pakistan by **eight wickets** in the World Championship of Cricket final in Melbourne. However, Pakistan bounced back the following year, edging India by **one wicket** in the 1986 Austral-Asia Cup final at Sharjah. At the same venue in 1994, Pakistan once again triumphed, this time by **39 runs**.

India regained dominance in the **2007 ICC T20 World Cup final** in Johannesburg, securing a narrow **five-run win**. But Pakistan delivered a resounding response a decade later in the **2017 ICC Champions Trophy final at The Oval**, crushing India by a record **180 runs**.

This year’s final in Dubai marks the **fourth final clash** between the two sides since the Champions Trophy. India has already beaten Pakistan twice in this tournament’s earlier stages, raising the stakes for tonight’s showdown.

Overall, in **T20 internationals**, the two arch-rivals have met **15 times**, with India winning **11 matches**, Pakistan winning **3**, and **one ending in a tie**.
