Protective Embankments in Punjab’s Flood-Hit Areas Repaired in Record Time

Lahore: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, repair and reconstruction work on protective embankments in flood-affected areas has been completed in record time.
The Chief Minister praised Minister for Irrigation Kazim Ali Pirzada, Secretary Wasif Khurshid, and the entire team for their efforts.
In Muzaffargarh’s suburban area of Noraja Bhutta, the flood-damaged embankment has been fully restored. A 1,250-foot breach was repaired, transforming the structure into a strong 3,450-foot-long protective embankment. Additionally, repair work on a 1,960-foot embankment has been completed.
Near the motorway in Hafizwala, reconstruction of a 23,000-foot distributary track has been finalized, while two road breaches totaling 410 feet have also been filled.
Meanwhile, over 80% of the repair work on a 33,700-foot-long breach has been completed, with rapid progress underway. Furthermore, a 283-foot breach along the fourth canal has been fully repaired.
