PM Shehbaz Sharif Holds High-Level Talks with U.S. President Donald Trump at White House

Washington – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, accompanied by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, U.S. Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The talks, which lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes in the Oval Office, were kept confidential, with no details released to the media. Following the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif traveled to New York, where he is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) today.
In his speech, he is expected to highlight **the Kashmir issue, the Palestinian cause, Indo-Pak tensions, and the need for peace in the Middle East**.
Ahead of the meeting, President Trump praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir as “great leaders and remarkable personalities.”
Prime Minister Sharif arrived in Washington with his delegation via Andrews Air Base, where he received a red-carpet welcome from senior U.S. Air Force officials. His motorcade departed under tight American security arrangements.
Shehbaz Sharif also described the recent meeting of Muslim leaders with President Trump regarding a Gaza ceasefire as “useful,” adding that the next step would be implementing the commitments agreed upon in Washington.
Speaking to journalists in New York, the Prime Minister lauded Pakistan’s military victories against India, declaring that “the arrogance of India was crushed,” and credited Field Marshal Asim Munir for “showing the world how wars are fought.”
