Federal Govt Deploys Army in Punjab for Flood Damage Assessment

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army in Punjab to conduct a comprehensive survey of flood damages.
According to official directives sent to the Punjab government, army personnel will be part of joint survey teams working across **27 districts** of the province. The deployment has been made under **Article 245 of the Constitution**.
The Punjab government had formally requested federal assistance for the survey, aimed at assessing losses to life, property, crops, livestock, and infrastructure caused by the recent floods.
Officials stated that the devastating floods resulted in heavy casualties and widespread destruction, making a detailed survey essential for planning relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction measures.
