Imran Khan Could Walk Free Today if He Compromised, Says Asad Qaiser

Islamabad: Former National Assembly Speaker **Asad Qaiser** has said that PTI founder **Imran Khan** could secure his release today if he chose to compromise, but he remains steadfast on his principles despite numerous offers.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Qaiser announced that a **historic rally will be held in Peshawar on September 27** on the direction of Imran Khan. “I invite the entire Pakistani nation to participate. The PTI founder is fighting the battle for the whole country,” he said.
Qaiser stressed that the country cannot function under a **hybrid system** and urged all state institutions to work within their **constitutional and legal limits**.
Commenting on regional issues, he said: *“You have taken away our right to live. Afghanistan is our neighbor; we will engage with it diplomatically. Our region has been at war for 40 years. We must resolve issues through dialogue.”*
He highlighted that the **Sartaj Aziz Commission** had recommended allocating **3% from federal and provincial NFC shares for former FATA**, but this has not been implemented. “The NFC share has increased from 14% to 19%, yet our province is still deprived. This is revenge against a province,” he said, adding that **Balochistan faces the same neglect**.
Qaiser urged the government not to alienate smaller provinces, saying: *“Pakistan belongs to all of us. Provide us with trade opportunities with Afghanistan, Central Asia, and beyond. Do not push an entire province against the wall.”*
