No More Rivalry with Pakistan,’ Says Indian Captain Suryakumar Yadav After Asia Cup Victory

Dubai:Indian captain **Suryakumar Yadav** has played down the traditional cricket rivalry with Pakistan, saying the sense of hostility between the two sides is now fading.

Speaking at a post-match press conference following India’s six-wicket win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup T20 Super Four stage, Yadav remarked:
*”There is no rivalry or enmity with Pakistan anymore. Out of the last 10–15 matches, India has won the majority. The head-to-head ratio is almost 1-10, so journalists and fans should stop asking the same old questions.”*

Yadav admitted India made mistakes in the field but stressed that the team is focused on the remaining crucial matches. Taking a dig at his teammates who dropped catches, he quipped: *“It seemed like those players had butter on their hands.”* He revealed that the **fielding coach has already summoned the culprits via email**.

On the match itself, Yadav explained that the turning point came after the 10th over when India’s bowlers shifted momentum. He particularly praised **Dube’s decisive spell**, during which key Pakistani batters lost their wickets.

He also noted that the **Dubai pitch** seemed easier to play on after **September 14**, which was why India opted to field first.

India successfully chased down Pakistan’s target of **172 runs** in the 19th over with four wickets down, marking their second consecutive win over their arch-rivals in this tournament.
