Defense Minister Khawaja Asif Backs Haris Rauf Over ‘0-6’ Gesture Against Indian Fans

Dubai/Islamabad:Pakistan’s Defense Minister **Khawaja Asif** has expressed support for fast bowler **Haris Rauf**, who made a **“0-6” hand gesture** toward Indian fans during the Asia Cup T20 Super Four clash between Pakistan and India.

The incident occurred while Rauf was fielding on the boundary and allegedly responded to chants from Indian spectators by signaling **“0-6” with his fingers** and mimicking a plane flying and crashing. The gesture sparked outrage among Indian social media users, fueling heated debate online.

Reacting to the controversy, Khawaja Asif took to **X (formerly Twitter)** and wrote in Punjabi:
*”Haris Rauf thik takkar ya… kam chak ke rakh.”*
He further added: *”Cricket matches come and go, but the score of 6/0 will never be forgotten by India, nor by the world.”*

The reference recalls the **May “Operation Swift Retort” (Ma’raka-e-Haq)**, when Pakistan Air Force officials claimed a **“6-0” victory** after downing six Indian aircraft during aerial combat.

The gesture has since gone viral, symbolizing Pakistan’s air combat success being echoed in cricket rivalry.
