Tamil Actor and Comedian Robo Shankar Passes Away at 46

Chennai:Popular Tamil actor and comedian **Robo Shankar**, known for his comic roles and unique dance performances, passed away at the age of 46.

According to Indian media, the actor collapsed on September 16 during a film shoot and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Chennai. He was admitted to the intensive care unit, but despite medical efforts, his condition deteriorated and he passed away on Thursday night.

Doctors confirmed that his death was caused by **gastrointestinal bleeding and multiple organ failure**. Shankar had been battling various health issues in recent months and had only recently recovered from jaundice.

His final rites were performed on Friday in Chennai.

Robo Shankar began his career in **1997**, initially playing small roles in Tamil films before gaining fame through supporting and comic roles. He became a household name through television shows, where his distinctive **“robot dance”** earned him the nickname *Robo*.

He was regarded as one of the most beloved entertainers in the Tamil film and television industry.
