ANP to Hold All-Parties Conference in Chaman on September 24

Chaman:Awami National Party (ANP) Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai announced that the party will organize an **All-Parties Conference/National Jirga on September 24** at Shaheed House, Murda Kariz, Chaman.

Speaking at a crowded press conference at Chaman Press Club’s Bacha Khan Hall, alongside ANP Central Committee member Dr. Abdul Samad Achakzai, District President Abdul Khaliq Haqmal, and other leaders, Asghar Khan said the jirga would address the recent terrorist incident at the Durand Line, the imposition of a passport regime, closure of cross-border trade, and what he termed the “state’s inhumane and humiliating treatment” of Afghan refugees.

He highlighted that Pashtuns were being deprived of basic rights across Pakistan, including Punjab, Sindh, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. “They are denied employment and education opportunities, and subjected to repeated humiliation at interprovincial checkpoints in the name of security,” he said.

The ANP leader accused the state of imposing terrorism on Pashtun lands for resource exploitation, adding that incidents from Sherani to the Chaman blast had claimed lives across communities. He strongly condemned the treatment of Afghan refugees, including the demolition of their homes, looting, and insecurity on the Quetta-Chaman highway.

“Today, there is no sign of governance or state responsibility. In such circumstances, ANP will hold the National Jirga to find a collective way forward. Invitations will be extended to all political parties and community elders,” Asghar Khan said.

He stressed that the **state is duty-bound to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property**, not merely indulge in corruption, commissions, and transfers. He further pledged that ANP would continue to raise its voice with other progressive and democratic forces for the resolution of people’s problems.
