Captain (R) Safdar Demands Removal of CEC, Stands with Rehana Dar

ISLAMABAD:Senior PML-N leader Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar has said that he met Khawaja Asif in Shangla and confronted him over the treatment of Rehana Dar. According to Safdar, Khawaja Asif swore by his late mother that he had no role in the incident and that his conscience was clear.
Speaking at a ceremony and in an exclusive talk with *Daily Pakistan*, Captain Safdar said he was not defending Khawaja Asif but reminded that Rehana Dar’s husband had stood by Nawaz Sharif during difficult times. “Nawaz Sharif is not so ungrateful as to allow the wife of a loyal companion to be dragged and humiliated. Whoever commits such acts is an oppressor, and we will not stand with oppressors. When mothers and daughters are beaten and their veils are snatched, that is sheer tyranny,” he remarked.

He demanded the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, insisting that all elections marred by rigging should be investigated. Safdar added that it would be better if the entire Election Commission resigned, saying the nation could no longer bear further injustices.
