Deepika Padukone Dropped from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Sequel Amid Reported Dispute Over Demands

Mumbai:Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will not be part of the upcoming sequel to *Kalki 2898 AD*, the makers announced on social media.

In an official statement, production house Vyjayanthi Movies said that despite a long association, they were unable to build a “strong partnership” with the actress. The announcement confirmed that Deepika will not feature in the sequel, adding that the decision was made through “mutual agreement.”

However, Indian media reports suggest that the actress was dropped after demanding a 25% hike in her fee, along with luxury accommodation and meal expenses for her 25-member team in a five-star hotel. These demands were reportedly considered an “extra financial burden” by the producers, leading to the split.

This is not the first time the actress has faced a fallout with filmmakers over similar issues. Earlier, she parted ways with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film *Spirit* under comparable circumstances.

*Kalki 2898 AD*, which starred Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika in pivotal roles, was released last year and received wide attention for its futuristic storyline.
