Shah Rukh Khan Reveals He Never Wanted to Be an Actor, His True Passion Was Filmmaking

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has revealed that acting was never his first choice—his real passion was filmmaking.
In a recent conversation, the actor shared that he initially wanted to become a filmmaker, not an actor. He pursued Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia with the intention of learning direction, but destiny led him into acting, where he gradually rose to become one of the industry’s top stars.
Shah Rukh also spoke about his son Aryan Khan, saying that Aryan, like him, has chosen filmmaking over acting. “That’s why he is not stepping into films as an actor,” Khan explained.
Aryan recently made his directorial debut in the Netflix web series *The Beds of Bollywood*, featuring Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Raghav, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, and Rajat Bedi in key roles.
Shah Rukh added that Aryan has been passionate about filmmaking since childhood and is learning the craft on his own. He emphasized that he never pressures his children to choose any particular profession and encourages them to pursue their own paths freely.
