Saudi Official: Pakistan-Saudi Defense Pact Reflects Long-Term Cooperation

Riyadh – A senior Saudi official has described the recently signed defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a reflection of long-term cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Speaking to a British news agency, the Saudi official emphasized that the pact was not a reaction to any specific incident but a comprehensive defense agreement covering all military resources. He stressed that the accord underscores the enduring strategic partnership between Riyadh and Islamabad.

The agreement, signed in Riyadh by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is titled the “Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement” (SMDA). It aims to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, ensure joint protection against any aggression, and contribute to peace and security in the region and beyond.

According to the pact, any act of aggression against one country will be considered aggression against both.
