BFA Cracks Down on Adulterated Milk and Yogurt in Quetta

Quetta – In line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has intensified operations in Quetta and surrounding areas to ensure the supply of pure, adulteration-free milk to the public.

BFA teams conducted inspections of milk shops and milk carrier vehicles on Toghi Road, Alamdar Road, Hazara Town, Spiny Road, Kuchlak Bazaar, and Baleli. During the operation, two shops were sealed for adulteration in milk and yogurt, while a large quantity of substandard milk and yogurt prepared with powdered milk was seized and destroyed.

According to BFA, samples of 7,720 liters of milk and yogurt were collected from 31 shops and 22 carrier vehicles for laboratory testing. Of these, 240 liters of milk and 480 kilograms of yogurt were found adulterated and were discarded on the spot. Heavy fines were imposed on 11 milk sellers and one supplier, who were also warned of strict legal action.

Provincial Minister and Chairman of BFA, Haji Noor Muhammad Dummar, said that there will be no compromise on public health, stressing that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against the adulteration mafia. He added that under the milk testing campaign, the quality of dairy products is also being checked in other districts. He reaffirmed that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, the BFA is determined to eliminate adulteration from dairy products.
