Karachi Child Abuse Case: Victims Slap Accused in Courtroom

KARACHI: In a shocking scene at the Judicial Magistrate South’s court, victims of a child abuse case slapped the accused during proceedings on Monday.

The accused, Shabbir Tanoli, a juice vendor from Qayyumabad, was produced before the court in connection with **seven cases of child sexual abuse**. Police also presented the victims in court, where some of the girls slapped the accused inside the courtroom.

According to police, Tanoli was arrested following complaints from local residents. Investigations revealed that since 2016, he had been sexually assaulting both boys and girls while recording videos of the abuse. Several cases have been registered against him at Defence Police Station.

The court extended the accused’s physical remand for three more days and directed police to submit a progress report at the next hearing.

Outside the courtroom, when journalists asked Tanoli what he did with the videos, he chillingly responded, *“I used to watch them later.”*
