CM Balochistan Chairs High-Level Meeting on Water and Power Issues in Gwadar

Gwadar/Quetta (Qudrat Daily) – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a high-level meeting in Gwadar to address the city’s pressing water and electricity issues.
The meeting was attended by MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Public Health Hashim Ghalzai, Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Noor-ul-Haq Baloch, DG GDA Moin-ur-Rehman Khan, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Hamood-ur-Rehman, and other senior officials.
During the session, various proposals were reviewed to ensure a sustainable water supply for Gwadar. The Chief Minister directed authorities to prepare a feasibility report for supplying water from Mirani Dam through a dedicated pipeline, a project that would be executed in collaboration with the federal and provincial governments.
The CM instructed the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) to expedite the process of providing household connections through the new pipeline. He also emphasized the need to commence regular water supply from Shadi Kaur, make the desalination plant more effective, and activate the boring system in Suntser for additional water supply.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister appointed Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Noor-ul-Haq Baloch as the representative to coordinate efforts among all concerned institutions to resolve water and electricity issues in Gwadar.
