Malaria, Dengue, and Chikungunya Threats in Karachi After Recent Rains

KARACHI: Following the recent heavy rains in Karachi, there is a growing concern over the spread of diseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya.
In response, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided to launch an extensive anti-mosquito spraying campaign across the city.
Karachi’s Mayor, Murtaza Wahab, announced that the three-day anti-germ spray campaign will begin tomorrow. He stated that the initiative will cover all districts of Karachi, with spraying operations scheduled in 25 towns across the city.
The primary aim of the campaign is to protect residents from vector-borne diseases. Mayor Wahab assured that every effort would be made to ensure no area is left out of the spraying process.
This public health initiative comes as a preventive measure to curb the potential outbreaks following the rainy season.
