Aleema Khan Condemns Media Clash, Denies Allegations of Misusing Shaukat Khanum Funds

Rawalpindi: Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has said that incidents involving the media outside Adiala Jail are being carried out deliberately, claiming that “those who are sent there are not doing journalism.”
Speaking to reporters at Daghgal checkpoint en route to Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan condemned the scuffle between PTI workers and journalists a day earlier. She stated, *“When people are deliberately sent to provoke, that is not journalism. This is being done intentionally to incite anger.”*
She added that she had even stopped her own sons from visiting the jail, fearing that they could also be implicated in terrorism cases if present during such incidents.
Responding to allegations about her U.S. properties, Aleema Khan denied any misuse of Shaukat Khanum funds, asserting, *“My property is purchased with my hard-earned money. I am a textile exporter. By asking irrelevant questions, you are damaging my business. My company represents me, and such accusations hurt Pakistan’s exporters.”*
Her sister, Noreen Niazi, also present at the time, defended Shaukat Khanum Hospital, saying, *“It belongs to everyone, no one should raise questions about it.”*
Aleema Khan further remarked that no one was questioning the incident of an egg being thrown at her, suggesting that misinformation surrounded the matter. She maintained that regardless of such actions or humiliation, she and her family were unfazed.
Throughout her media talk, Aleema Khan repeatedly addressed journalists as “brothers” and “sons,” urging restraint and fairness in reporting.
