Overseas Pakistanis Send \$3.1 Billion in Remittances in August

KARACHI: Overseas Pakistanis remitted **\$3.1 billion in August 2025**, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The inflows showed a **year-on-year growth of 6.6%**, reflecting rising confidence of expatriates in Pakistan’s economy.
During the first two months of fiscal year 2026, remittances reached **\$6.4 billion**, up 7% compared to **\$5.9 billion** in the same period last year.
Country-wise data showed that the highest inflows came from **Saudi Arabia (\$736.7 million)**, followed by the **United Arab Emirates (\$622.9 million)**, the **United Kingdom (\$463.4 million)**, and the **United States (\$267.3 million)**.
The SBP said remittances remain a crucial source of foreign exchange and continue to support Pakistan’s external account stability.
