Former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique Visits Bajaur, Distributes Flood Relief Cheques with Dignity

Bajaur:Former Railways Minister **Khawaja Saad Rafique** visited **Bajaur (Khar)** where he distributed relief cheques among families affected by the recent floods on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In a rare move that won appreciation on social media, Saad Rafique **barred media coverage and photography** during the cheque distribution. He emphasized that the dignity and self-respect of the flood-hit families must be preserved.
“I request that no pictures be taken while handing over the cheques. Please switch off the cameras so our colleagues can quietly give the cheques. I believe it is inappropriate to publicize such moments,” Rafique said.
Sharing details of his visit on X (formerly Twitter), Rafique wrote:
“We once again visited the land of our brave and loving Pashtun brothers and sisters in **Bajaur (Khar)** along with Ikhtiar Wali Khan, Mubarak Zeb Khan, and Shahabuddin Khan. The district administration made the arrangements, and former Senator Maulana Abdul Rasheed (JUI) was also present.”
He added that Bajaur, scarred by terrorism, counter-operations, floods, poverty, unemployment, and mistrust, needs **healing, respect, and renewed confidence**. The purpose of the visit was to deliver Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s **relief package of Rs2 million per affected family**.
Saad Rafique stressed that the **decision not to allow photography** during distribution was deliberate: *“Every individual’s dignity must be respected.”*
