Not Every Married Couple Is Fit to Raise Children, Says Sania Saeed

Karachi: Veteran actress Sania Saeed has said that having children is a huge responsibility and not every married couple is capable of handling it.
Speaking on a recent morning show, Sania Saeed highlighted the importance of emotional and mental readiness before bringing a child into the world. She stressed that many couples in society lack the capacity to properly raise children. “Not every couple deserves to have children; weak emotional and mental health can make them unfit for lifelong parenting responsibilities,” she explained.
She further questioned whether married couples are truly prepared to care for children. “Are the parents ready to face challenges? Are they emotionally equipped to take on such a heavy responsibility?” she asked.
Sania Saeed also criticized the social pressure on couples to have children immediately after marriage. She noted that many young parents in Pakistan suffer from mental health issues, with mothers often facing postpartum depression. “A small child can overwhelm anyone, yet people who push couples to have kids don’t realize the consequences of their pressure,” she added.
