Sindh Home Minister Vows Dacoits Will Be Killed or Surrender Within Six Months

Karachi: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has assured that within the next six months, bandits operating in the province will either be killed or forced to surrender.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, the minister was asked how many dacoits in the riverine (katcha) areas were affected by the recent floods. He replied that dacoits are not registered, making it impossible to provide exact figures, but noted that most of them are concentrated in Sukkur Division.

Lanjar estimated that around 400 criminals reside in the katcha areas, alongside ordinary citizens who refuse to leave their homes despite the flooding. He dismissed the notion that floodwaters would drive dacoits away, stating firmly: “I assure you, in the next six months, dacoits will either die or surrender.”
