Punjab Government to Confer Top Civil Award on Late Assistant Commissioner Furqan Ahmed

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to honor **Assistant Commissioner of Pattoki, Furqan Ahmed Khan**, who lost his life during flood relief operations, with a prestigious civil award.
In addition, Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz Sharif** has approved a **grant of PKR 10 million** for the bereaved family.
Despite battling cancer, Furqan Ahmed had been on **continuous duty for four days**, leading rescue and relief efforts in flood-hit areas of Pattoki. He worked tirelessly to provide food, medicine, and essential supplies to the affected families.
Tragically, Furqan Ahmed passed away yesterday after suffering a **heart attack** during the relief operation.
Paying tribute, CM Maryam Nawaz said Furqan Ahmed was a **true hero**, who sacrificed his life while serving the people in their most difficult time. She added that his dedication and sense of duty will always be remembered.
