Flood Situation Worsens in Punjab Rivers; Chenab and Ravi See High Flood Levels

Lahore:Latest data released by the **Regional Meteorological Office Lahore** indicates a concerning surge in floodwaters across **Punjab’s major rivers**, particularly the **Chenab and Ravi**. The figures, updated until **11 PM**, suggest that multiple areas are currently facing **high to extremely high flood levels**.

According to **Director of the Regional Meteorological Office**, **Aleem-ul-Hassan Ramey**, the **Chenab River** is experiencing an **extremely high flood** at **Qadirabad**, with a flow of **1,070,951 cusecs**, while **1,014,443 cusecs** of floodwater is passing through **Head Khanki**. At **Head Marala**, the Chenab is carrying **312,918 cusecs** of water.

In the **Ravi River**, a **flow of 189,380 cusecs** was recorded at **Jassar**, while **91,400 cusecs** were reported passing through **Shahdara**. The situation is expected to escalate, as **1.5 to 2 lakh cusecs** of water are projected to pass through Shahdara **tonight**.

Furthermore, **Baloki** is witnessing **80,000 cusecs**, which qualifies as a **moderate flood**.

Aleem-ul-Hassan Ramey explained that the water currently at **Jassar** will soon reach **Shahdara**, and eventually flow down to **Baloki**, potentially increasing the pressure in these downstream areas.

Authorities are closely monitoring the flood situation and have urged local administrations to remain alert and prepared for any **emergency evacuation or safety measures**.
