Pakistan Launches First Modern IVF Lab for Livestock, Marking a New Era in the Sector

LAHORE: In a significant step towards modernizing Pakistan’s livestock sector, Punjab’s Provincial Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani inaugurated the country’s **first state-of-the-art IVF laboratory** in Khanewal, established by PhoneGrow.

The initiative, part of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and Green Pakistan Initiative, introduces cutting-edge reproductive biotechnology to the livestock industry. The launch ceremony was attended by the Secretary Livestock, officials from the Breeding Directorate, veterinary experts, and other key stakeholders.

The modern IVF lab is expected to revolutionize livestock breeding by enabling the production of high-quality breeds, improving disease resistance, and increasing productivity. PhoneGrow has already achieved a milestone of **100 successful IVF cases**.

The minister also inspected the semen production unit, paddocks, and animal sheds at the facility. The lab will play a critical role in implementing disease control compartment protocols across the country.

Thanks to the strategic efforts of SIFC, Pakistan’s livestock sector is being aligned with international standards, ushering in a new era of scientific advancement and economic potential.
