Severe Monsoon Floods Devastate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Causing Loss of Lives and Massive Damage

Recent monsoon rains have wreaked havoc across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in significant loss of precious lives and widespread financial damage.
Videos shared on social media show powerful floodwaters sweeping away homes, shops, and roads. In several areas, people are seen migrating to safer places on their own, while rescue teams are actively engaged in relief efforts, using boats and ropes to save stranded individuals.


After the floods, many have shared footage of destroyed markets. One user posted a video of China Market in Swat, describing it as a place where every shop and street tells a heartbreaking story of devastation and fear.


Khalid Khan Sapari shared a video highlighting the floodwaters that passed through Garments Market in Swat, destroying businesses and washing away entire inventories.


Hermit Singh described the catastrophic scenes in the main market of Pir Baba in district Buner, where flood debris has demolished shops, roads, and electricity poles. Many shopkeepers have lost their stock in water and mud, and locals are seen trying to salvage goods from the rubble with their bare hands.


Another user appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to compensate the affected business owners and ensure full restoration, emphasizing that the people of Swat have endured long hardships and now face yet another disaster.


Mohammad Hayat shared a video showing money and gold rings retrieved from floodwaters, expressing deep sorrow over the financial and human losses caused by the floods. He prayed for patience for the affected families and divine compensation for their losses.
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for more rainfall in the coming days, urging citizens to take precautionary measures.
