Islamabad:The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully completed the major Jhal Magsi Development Project in Balochistan’s Jhal Magsi district. According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the project was fast-tracked under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The project, which began in February 2024 following the government’s approval of an incentive package, is now producing 14 million cubic feet of gas per day along with 45 barrels of condensate daily. The extracted gas has been integrated into the main pipeline network of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL).

In addition to the energy development, OGDCL has undertaken several community welfare initiatives in the region under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. These include the construction of schools, healthcare centers, and 84 model houses for low-income and homeless residents.
The company has also provided scholarships and technical training opportunities for local youth in collaboration with NAVTTC. Other CSR contributions include the provision of ambulances, free eye camps, distribution of ration bags to 800 families, installation of two RO water filtration plants, and numerous water tanks to ensure access to clean drinking water.
OGDCL continues to work on various other CSR projects in the Jhal Magsi district to uplift the local community.
