NDMA Sounds Alarm as Fresh Monsoon Threatens to Worsen Pakistan’s Flood Crisis

The National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has issued an emergency alert across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Balochistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and parts of Sindh, warning of heavy to very heavy rain this week. NDMA Chair Lt Gen Inam Haider cautioned that an additional two to three monsoon spells are expected before mid-September, with rainfall levels projected to exceed average by 50–60%, a fallout of escalating climate change
