Lahore:A high-level meeting was held at the **National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore** to discuss squad selection for the upcoming **tri-nation T20 series** and the **Asia Cup 2025**, sources confirmed.

According to insiders, the meeting included **chief selectors**, **head coach Mike Hesson**, and **team captain**, who held detailed consultations to finalize a **strong and balanced squad**, particularly with the **Asia Cup’s importance** in mind.

Sources revealed that the names of **former captain Babar Azam** and **wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan** were **actively discussed** during the session. With key matches against **arch-rival India** expected, the selectors stressed the need to **utilize the experience of senior players** in high-pressure games.

The announcement of the squad for the **Tri-Nation T20 series**, scheduled to begin on **August 29 in the UAE**, is expected **later today**. The tournament will feature **Pakistan**, **Afghanistan**, and **United Arab Emirates**.
